White House Fall Garden Tour - October 16, 2011
I got to go to the White House today for the Fall Garden Tour. The flower gardens, kitchen/vegetable gardens and the grounds were beautiful. It was perfect weather today.
Chilean Miner's Rescue Capsule - October 15, 2011
I took this photo at the Smithsonian of the rescue capsule that they used to bring the Chilean miners, that were trapped down in the mine last year, up to the surface. It is amazing that it is so narrow in size.

Front Yard Maple Trees - October 9, 2011
The leaves on my front yard maple trees are starting to turn colors here in northern Virginia. Because of the drought this summer and the excessive rains this September, the leaves aren't as bright as usual. They are still beautiful though.

Martini Time in the Front Yard - October 7, 2011
I took this photo while holding up a martini in the sunlight in my front yard late this afternoon. The martinis were orange / pomegranate. I was enjoying the beautiful weather here in northern Virginia with my neighbors. We put our chairs in my front yard and made martinis to enjoy with cheese , crackers and grapes as a snack. The sun was shining brightly through my maple trees.

Crocheted Name Doily - October 6, 2011
I took this digital photo of a doily that I crocheted for myself. Over the years I have crocheted over 700+ of these name doilies for family and friends. I graph their name on graph paper and then begin to crochet. I had my doily laying on the coffee table for a few years and then decided to frame it to hang on the wall. I have also put them on throw pillows too. I love making these.
