The lily of the valley are blooming in my back garden. I cut some of them and put them in a vase on my living room coffee table. They make the house smell so good.

I took this photo of the back side of the White House today during the Easter Egg Hunt. The photo was taken from the Pennsylvania Ave. side. It was a beautiful day.
Hummingbird - April 24, 2011
When I was sitting on a friend's deck on Easter Sunday, the hummingbirds were visiting her feeders. I took this photo of a male hummingbird. He had the red band on his neck. The female wasn't as bright.

I took this photo of the ajuga / bugleweed growing in my back garden. This shade-loving, deer-resistant groundcover has traditionally been planted under large trees. It is a beautiful periwinkle blue and flowers in the springtime.
Dogwood Blossoms in Northern Virginia - April 22, 2011
I took this photo of the dogwood blossoms on a neighbor's tree. My dogwood tree is only a few feet tall and has not blossomed yet.
