"Journey" - fiber art / haiku - August 30, 2011
My haiku fiber art piece for August was about a journey. I did a photo transfer onto treated fabric of a digital photo that I took while taking off from LAX this past month. It is machine quilted.
My haiku for the fiber piece is;

Morning Visitor - Toad _ August 29, 2011
When I look out the sliding glass door in my dining room this morning, I saw this tiny toad that is about 2" long. He was between the glass door and the screen and was about 15" up the screen. I don't know how and when he got there, because the last time I opened that door, it was about 6 pm yesterday. He must have spent the night there. I slid the glass door open slowly and took some photos of him and then unlocked the sliding screen and opened it about 5". He is finally gone and free to get back to nature.
Monarch Caterpillar on Milk Weed Plant - September, 28, 2011
My neighbor has many monarch caterpillars on the milk weed plant in their front garden. They are feeding on the leaves of the plant. I can't wait until spring to see the butterflies.

Before the Storm, Evening Sky in Northern Virginia - August 26, 2011
When I went out in my front yard this evening and looked at the sky, I saw all the colors that were swirling around. We have had earthquakes this past week here in northern Virginia, but now we are expecting Hurricane Irene to come through our area beginning tomorrow. The sky is showing us that something is brewing.
Moonflower in Side Garden - August 25, 2011
I took this photo of the moonflower in my side garden about two and a half hours after it began to twirl open . They twirl open very slowly after the sun goes down. The blossom only last one night and then it wilts the next morning when the sun rises. They smell wonderful.
