Castor Bean 2 - March 23, 2011
I designed and made this fiber art quilt in February of 2002. I discharged a piece of purple fabric with a large castor bean leaf from my neighbor's yard. I quilted it in copper metallic and invisible threads. I also used fancy yarns and threads, some of which were quilted under purple tulle. It is 19" x 18" in size.

Tourtellini Soup - March 21, 2011
I was hungry for tortellini soup this week and decided to make a pot of it. In a large kettle, I browned minced garlic in butter and then added chicken broth, stewed tomatoes, minced parsley, chopped spinach, cheese tortellini, and salt and pepper to taste. It was so good.

I just took a walk in my back yard and saw that the forsythia is starting to bloom. I have five forsythia bushes and hope to cut off a few branches to bring inside the house to enjoy for spring.

I designed and made this little 8 1/2" x 11" ( self portrait) art quilt in March of 2003. I am very sorry to say that it was stolen from a gallery by Annapolis, Md., where it was being shown. Our northern Virginia art quilt group was having a "showing" of art quilts there. If anyone ever sees this quilt somewhere, please let me know. She is one of my favorites and I hated losing her this way.

I did this needlepoint and finished it in 1974. It is titled "Venus and Cupid" and is from a painting by Diego De Velazquez, that hangs in the National Gallery in London. My needlepoint hang above my the bed in my bedroom. It is approximately 22" x 43".

Pink Carnation Bud - March 9, 2011
I brought this pink carnation bud home from a birthday celebration for a friend who was turning 96 years "young". The stem broke on this bud, so I brought it home to enjoy. The bud is just opening up further. I have it sitting on the coffee table in my living room.

I always have a lot of deer in my back yard here in northern Virginia. I had five deer visit recently and took this photo of a deer by the cobalt blue bottles in my back garden. I love nature.
