Rolling Thunder - May 29, 2011

I went to the "Rolling Thunder" on I- 95, in northern Virginia this morning, with friends. It consist of hundreds of veterans on motorcycles , driving on the HOV lanes into Washington DC for the Memorial Day celebrations. We wave flags as they drive by and blow their horns. Hundreds of people gather on the overpasses to wave to the veterans.

I love going to lunch at Haandi Gourmet Indian Cuisine restaurant in Bethesda , Maryland on the weekends. Their buffet is delicious. I especially like to finish off the meal with their rice pudding that taste wonderful.

When I moved into this house in 1990 in northern Virginia, I started to collect the yearly White House Christmas tree ornaments. I started to put them on this wreath in the entry way, but then I had to start hanging them on the Christmas tree. I have 21 White House tree ornaments in this collection. I bought the new one designed each year.

I went to Brookside Gardens in Wheaton, Maryland yesterday afternoon for Mother's Day. Besides their wonderful gardens and plants, they have an enclosed butterfly garden that is fascinating. There were hundreds of different butterflies all around us. The colors in their wings were so vivid.
